Not the status quo

Every day, men at Ready, Willing & Able Philadelphia work to rebuild their lives. Success happens every day, but it is at risk. We aren't asking your help to maintain the status quo. We are asking because, over the past six months, institutional challenges to men in our recovery house are compounding and accelerating.  

Medication-assisted treatment options are shrinking. We are securing care.

In May, one of Philadelphia’s largest medication assisted treatment clinics closed to 1,900 patients. In December, another clinic will close. Our Core Recovery team is working intensively to connect our men to clinics that remain open.

Transportation barriers are rising. We are keeping treatment within reach.

In August, SEPTA’s service cuts made it harder and more expensive to get to clinics for essential daily doses of methadone, counseling, and other recovery services. We provide SEPTA passes so our men can still get to these crucial services.

Families are facing food insecurity. We collect food to support our families.

In November, the government shutdown disrupted SNAP. Men are not at risk of hunger while staying with us, but many of their families depend on SNAP, fueling stress and relapse. The crisis is over for now, but access to food remains tenuous. We work with our corridor partners to collect food for our men to take to their families.

These compounding challenges land on top of financial reality: City contracts pay $66.90 each day someone stays with us. The real cost is $136.07. Your donation protects the progress these men work for every day. It keeps treatment within reach, strengthens family stability, and supports their path to lasting recovery and dignity.
